Her Excellency Evelyn Wever-Croes Makes Ceremonious Cut
Xavier University School of Medicine Aruba is proud to announce the ribbon-cutting ceremony held last month, which celebrated the September opening of its new residential campus.
A dignified ribbon cutting
Her Excellency, Evelyn Wever-Croes, Prime Minister of Aruba, made the ceremonious cutting of the ribbon at this long-awaited event. Along with Her Excellency, university leaders welcomed: Xavier President, Ravi Bhooplapur; Chairman of the Board, Edwin Casey; and Trustees, Frank Croes, Dr. Ravindra Kota, and Dr. Ponathpur Prahalad. Benefactors, Jagadeesan and Kanchana Poola and family, were also in attendance.
The new housing block
Named after major benefactors, Jagadeesan and Kanchana Poola, the ‘Jagadeesan and Kanchana Poola Family Housing Block’ will be home to students beginning September 5, 2021. This state-of-the-art facility offers fully furnished and equipped two-bedroom suites, each with a bathroom, shower, kitchenette, and balcony. Students will enjoy a full-service cafeteria that provides all-you-can-eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets, in addition to a resort-style pool, basketball courts, and other luxury amenities that also include 24/7 security.
“We are thrilled to welcome our first round of students to our beautiful new facility,” said, Ravi Bhooplapur. The faculty and staff at Xavier are proud to offer our hard-working students a place they can call home—while away from home.”
